Sydney Gray, Fort Worth :: She was a junior majoring in interdisciplinary studies in the College of Education and was an active member of the UNT Black Student Union.

Kevin Scott Pugh

Kevin Scott Pugh, Fort Worth :: He was a doctoral student of special education in the College of Education. He was assistant director of special needs in DeSoto ISD. He also was known for his advocacy for children with learning disabilities. He and his sister had planned to open a diagnostic clinic in the Wichita Falls area.

Rachel Lynn Okon

Rachel Lynn Okon, McKinney :: She was a senior majoring in English with a minor in technical communication. She was a member of the UNT Talons. She loved dogs and found four lost dogs in just one semester. She also enjoyed writing, climbing trees and was known for her generosity.

Roy Lee Ford

Roy Lee Ford, Spring :: He was a business major and basketball player when he attended North Texas from 1966 to 1968. He earned his M.Ed. from the University of Houston in 1973. He served as an elementary school principal in Spring Branch ISD. He is survived by his wife Delores Conley Ford (’70), who he met at North Texas and was married to for 45 years.

Lucas Tucker

Lucas Tucker, Denton :: He was a sophomore studying biology. He was a musician who especially loved playing the guitar, and sang and played in multiple bands. He wanted to be a teacher.

Draylen Mason

Draylen Mason, Austin :: He was accepted to the UNT College of Music as a double bass violin player for the fall term. In his application, he said he wanted to be a musician, neurosurgeon and a composer. He was killed in the Austin package bombings in March.

Savion Manuel

Savion Manuel, Copperas Cove :: He was a sophomore studying electronic engineering technology with a minor in psychology. He was a practice player for the women’s basketball team, helping the players during scrimmage. He enjoyed soccer, basketball, and was known for his sense of style and humor.
