Michael Jerome Adkins, Mobile, Ala. :: He loved art, graphic design and photography and studied fashion design at UNT from 2005 to 2009. He also attended Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette, Ala., and American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Ga. His classmates remember him as a kind and talented person.
Bobbie Bryan Coons, Garland :: She attended North Texas from 1945 to 1949 and worked as a secretary at Don’s Transfer and Storage Co. She also served in her church, playing piano and organ, and enjoyed arts and crafts and researching genealogy.

Melissa Michele Whittemore, Forney :: She was a senior pursuing an applied arts and sciences degree in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
Ryan Joseph Schindler, Denton :: He was a native of Fort Worth and a 2009 graduate of Western Hills High School. He was majoring in psychology at UNT.
Boyce ‘Sonny’ Lee Thomas, Hayward, Calif., and Joyce Lee Thomas Hawthorne (’59, ’68 M.M.Ed.), Arlington, Va. :: The twins studied music at North Texas and taught in Fort Worth before relocating to California in 1969. Sonny served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and played saxophone in the 6th Army Band. He also performed with the Warlocks, a San Mateo, Calif.-based band. Joyce was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Jack and Jill. Sonny retired from East Palo Alto ISD, and Joyce retired from the San Francisco Unified School District. They died eight months apart.
