Gabriel Sean Aubergine, Frisco, was a senior human resource management major in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business. He was dedicated to his faith and family, and cherished opportunities to help others. He enjoyed pizza and mint chocolate chip ice cream and was a fan of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

Andrew Alainz, Alice. A junior in the College of Health and Public Service, he served in the U.S. Army for five years as a medic stationed in Texas and was deployed to Iraq. He later earned an associate degree at Austin Community College and hoped to pursue a career in social work. Devoted to his nephews, Andrew loved cats, enjoyed reading and debating books, playing chess and other games, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Crystal “Coco” Mendoza, Dallas. The senior, who was studying business administration, had a passion for adventure and enjoyed hiking scenic trails.

Keyanna Alexis Denton (’22), Midlothian. After earning a bachelor’s in history at UNT, she was pursuing her master’s in library science. An avid reader and collector of books, she also enjoyed playing video games.

Evan Alan Moore, Cedar Hill. He was a freshman studying kinesiology and minoring in psychology. At UNT, he helped form a Bible study group and was a beloved member of the women’s basketball team as a practice player, as well as a member of the men’s basketball sports club.

Mick Atchley Morgan, Teague. A junior liberal arts and social sciences major, he served as a firefighter in the U.S. Air Force while stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Following an honorable discharge, he attended Sam Houston State University and transferred to UNT, where he participated in unionized labor activism. An avid reader and lover of music, he was interested in advocating for workers’ rights.

Jose “Aaron” Martinez, Dallas. A pre-business major at UNT’s G. Brint Ryan College of Business, he was a hard worker and was paying his way through college with his job as a trainer at Whataburger. He valued his family and friends and spent time with them whenever he could.

Evan Robinson, Plano. He was a freshman pre-business major. He was active in refereeing sports, and his family remember him for his compassion and humor.

Jon Carlson, Grapevine. A graduate of Uplift North Hills Preparatory, he was a freshman journalism major with a focus on international affairs. He was a member of two Boy Scout Troops and in 2022 achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed music, gaming, strength training and skateboarding.

Travis Stewart Sheffield, Northlake. He was a biology student in the College of Science since 2021, with plans to go to medical school. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2012 to 2017, including a deployment to Iraq in 2015, and later joined the Texas Army National Guard. Travis also was a Master Mason at the Krum Masonic Lodge. He was known for his sense of humor and loyalty to his friends.
