John Silas 'Si' Millican ('95 M.M.Ed.), San Antonio, accepted a position as assistant professor of instrumental music education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. After teaching public school in Lewisville and Belton for 13 years, he received a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in August.

Michele Majors, Bryan, was named associate director for academic support services in the Office of Admissions and Records at Texas A&M University in College Station. She will oversee production and management of catalogs, recruitment publications and other communications efforts. She previously was the managing editor of MBN USA, a national business magazine. She received a master's degree in humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2004.

Beau Moon, Highland Village, was recognized in the Dallas Business Journal list of M.B.A. All-Stars in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He recently graduated from the University of Dallas with an M.B.A. and is director of marketing for VHA Inc. in Las Colinas.

Kerin Groves ('99 M.S.), Albuquerque, N.M., was named Counselor of the Year for 2006 by the New Mexico Counseling Association. She is a clinical therapist with Conflict Management Inc., specializing in criminal offenders, substance abuse and domestic violence.

Craig Partin, New York, N.Y., relocated from San Francisco to New York City and was promoted to general manager of AKA Sutton Place, a luxury-serviced apartment provider that owns and operates properties throughout the northeastern United States. Craig is a certified relocation professional and global mobility specialist.

Felisha Redwine Davis, Cedar Park, and Darin Davis celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary in July. They recently started D&D Auto Sales and built a home near Austin. They have three children, Dacey, 14, Chloe, 8, and Carson, 3. Felisha says she welcomes revisiting old friendships at organizedkaos98@aol.com.

Kerry Baham (M.M.), Tyler, was appointed director of fine and performing arts at Tyler Junior College, where he has served on the faculty since 1997.

Sonia Cruz Day, Plano, has been teaching in the Plano ISD for 10 years and was promoted to team leader of kindergarten in one of the elementary schools. She has been published three times in the Mailbox Magazine.

*Paul Nordstrom, Ferndale, Wash., is a senior patrol agent in Blaine, Wash., for the U.S. Border Patrol and recently was assigned to full-time duties as a national recruiter.

Jill Rotella-Ysasaga and her husband, Michael Ysasaga ('94), Kingwood, welcomed their third child, Neveh Rose, in March.

Dave Favila, Harlingen, was named sports editor at the Harlingen Valley Morning Star, where he has worked since 1996. He started as a general assignments reporter, became a sportswriter in 1998 and was promoted to deputy sports editor in 2000. He is married and has a 7-year-old daughter named Maisie.

Amy George, Dallas, joined Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas as director of public relations after five years of leading national media relations for the national office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Irving.

Shelley Davis Kozma, Fort Worth, and her husband, Brian, welcomed their third child, Connor David, in November 2006. They have two daughters, Katie Beth, 5, and Kellie, 4. Shelley teaches kindergarten and Brian coaches football and baseball at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth.

Norman Nieves ('98, '02 M.S.), Edmond, Okla., is the new emergency management coordinator at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Pamela Stewart, Phoenix, Ariz., who teaches in the Arizona State University history department, received the ASU 2007-08 Centennial Professorship. The award recognizes excellence in teaching, service outside the classroom and integration of classroom teaching with the world at large.

Cody Birdwell (D.M.A.), Nicholasville, Ky., is director of bands and associate professor of music at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble, directs graduate programs in wind conducting, teaches graduate courses and supervises the administration of the band program. He previously served at Texas Tech, Utah State, Illinois and Northern Michigan universities and spent several years as a band director in Denton public schools.

Angela A. Kolter, Dallas, accepted a teaching position at the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas. TAG was named Newsweek magazine's No. 1 high school in the country for the past two years. She also will coach the Academic Decathlon team. She previously taught Advanced Placement English in Dallas for five years.

Richard J. Williamson (Ph.D.), New Concord, Ohio, received the William Rainey Harper Award for Outstanding Scholarship from Muskingum College in August. He is an associate professor of English who joined the faculty in 1996.

George Fowler ('98 M.S.), Fayetteville, Ark., is the new head of technology for the University of Arkansas Libraries. He previously was head of the systems department at Temple University. He also is a first lieutenant in the Arkansas National Guard and a public affairs officer. He and his wife, Sophia, were featured in the "Portfolio Doctor" section of the July issue of Kiplinger Magazine. Sophia formerly worked at UNT.

Condoa Parrent ('99 M.S., '07 Ed.D.), Gainesville, was promoted to vice president of student services over all three North Central Texas College campus locations.

Morgan Tucker (M.S.), Atlanta, Ga., and his wife, Jennifer, have opened an Espresso bar called Javaology in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward. It was nominated Atlanta Magazine's Best New Coffeehouse in 2006. In April 2006, they celebrated the birth of their first child, Solomon Cole. Morgan previously worked as a librarian and technologist for Microsoft, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the District of Columbia.

Gene M. Woodard III and his wife, Theresa, Arlington, celebrated 10 years of marriage in August. Gene was licensed as a general securities representative in the state of Texas in June 2006 and works for H.D. Vest Investment Securities in Irving. Theresa attended UNT from 1995 to 1997, majoring in French and political science. They have a 9-year old son, Stephen.

Catherine Bedenbaugh, Media, Pa., and Chris Handago are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Nicholas, in June. Catherine works as a textile designer for QVC Inc. in West Chester, Pa.

Steve Boedeker, Dallas, was promoted to enrollment manager for the University of Phoenix-Dallas Campus in Las Colinas. He is serving as enrollment manager for the four Dallas-Fort Worth campuses after working as an enrollment counselor for the last two years.

Laura Ringrose (M.Ed., '04 Ed.D.), Allen, and David Ringrose welcomed the birth of a daughter, Lily Ann, born in February.

Zarlacht Atiqzoy and Aaron M. Patenaude ('00, '04 M.S.), Dallas, along with their 2-year-old daughter, Ava Zarlacht, welcomed Noah Aaron to their family in May. Aaron, an information technology specialist, has been working for IBM in Dallas for eight years. Zarlacht, who previously worked for the Richards Group and Head Start of Greater Dallas, is a full-time mom and independent consultant for local media and marketing projects.

Megan Johnston Roe, Garland, is creative director of the Dallas-based exhibit design and fabrication company Museumscapes. One of the company's projects, the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, is celebrating its grand opening. The five-year, $5 million project includes 5,000 square feet of exhibits.
