Christa Boyd-Nafstad, Newark, N.J., graduated cum laude with her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, which she attended on a full scholarship. She is married to Karl Boyd-Nafstad ('04).

Shawna Weber Grissom (M.S.), Memphis, Tenn., joined the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital staff as director of child life. She previously served at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital in Nashville and at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

*Greg Hinckley and *Katie Kennedy Hinckley ('01), Dallas, welcomed their third daughter, Addison, to the family in January. She joins older sisters Trinity, 4, and Emory, 2. Greg works as an advanced planning consultant for the Hartford Insurance Co. Katie is "putting her degree in education to use raising the three girls."

Kimberly Wicks Hoff ('03 M.Ed.), Frisco, and her husband, Scott, welcomed their first child, Avery Elisabeth, in December 2006.

Doug Mobley, Irving, was appointed to the city of Irving Advisory Committee on Disabilities in February.

Joseph Spaniola (D.M.A.), Pensacola, Fla., joined the faculty at the University of West Florida as assistant professor and director of jazz studies and music theory.

Julia Crowson, Lewisville, and Chris Viscito ('04) were married in October in Richardson. Julia is a business intelligence analyst in Plano, and Chris is working as a personal banker at CoAmerica in Dallas.

James Andrew McMahan, New York, N.Y., graduated from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health with a master's degree in public health, specializing in forced migration. He works as an emergency planning coordinator for the New York City Department of Health-Bureau of Emergency Management.

Christa Mary Circelli, Grand Prairie, married Arturo Yáñez of Mesquite in July. She is employed by Mansfield Summit High School as a Spanish teacher and is pursuing a master's degree in Spanish literature and linguistics at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Sharon Hogue-Ali (M.S.), Sachse, formerly a chemistry teacher, is now a science facilitator for the Garland ISD.

*Jennifer Martin McCollum, Dallas, graduated magna cum laude from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in May. She began working in the Dallas office of Baker & McKenzie LLP after taking the bar exam in July. She also has been elected to the House Corporation Board for the Alpha Alpha chapter of Chi Omega at UNT. She and her husband, *Jr. ('02), have been married for three years.

Sarah Reece-Fincanon, Garland, and her husband, Jason, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Olivia Rose, in June. Olivia is welcomed by her big brother, Riley, and they are "all so very excited to have a brand new Mean Green fan."

Rudy de Vos (M.M.), Rochester, N.Y., took second prize in the International St. Albans Organ Competition in England in July. He is finishing his D.M.A. at the Eastman School of Music.

Betsie Stanley Estes, Abilene, and her husband, Brandon, welcomed their first daughter, Sophie Diane, in May.

Stacey Ewing, Gainesville, Fla., accepted a position in August as the new Information Commons librarian in the humanities and social sciences services department at the University of Florida.

Stephanie Love and Jamiah Williams ('04), Fort Worth, were married in July in Houston. Jamiah is a recent graduate of Texas Wesleyan Law School, and Stephanie is a sixth-grade pre-AP math teacher with the Keller ISD.

Eric McGehearty (M.F.A.), Lewisville, sculptor and public art coordinator for the city of Dallas, opened his one-person show, "Access Denied," in September in Martinsville, Va. His work "United We Stand" at Fort Worth Fire Station No. 6 was nationally recognized at the 2007 Public Art Year in Review as one of the 40 best public art projects of the year.

Andrea Arterbery, New York, N.Y., is the new assistant beauty editor at Essence magazine.

Kara Brock, Dallas, is the marketing director for Avidgolfer magazine. She is former news director for UNT radio station KNTU and weather anchor for NTTV.

Phillip Matthews, Richardson, was hired by the University of Texas at Dallas to be the freshman residential life coordinator. He says he has applied all the experiences he had as a UNT resident assistant to this position.

Malena McLaren (D.M.A.), Natchitoches, La., is assistant professor of clarinet at Northwestern State University. She won second place in the research presentation competition at the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest this year.

Mark Schectman, Richardson, now can be heard on Dallas-Fort Worth's 102.1 The Edge during drive time as the traffic anchor. He is the former host and producer of the North Texas Jukebox and sports anchor for KNTU.

Amanda Walker, McKinney, joined Jet­stream Public Relations as an account executive. She most recently served as an assistant account executive at Publicis Consultants/PR.

Brandon Evans (M.J.), Decatur, who works at the Wise County Messenger, was awarded the Texas Press Association first-place prize for feature writing in June. He previously was a reporter for the Post Signal and lived in Pilot Point.

Shakkila Mullins, Dallas, is an early intervention specialist serving families with infants and toddlers who have disabilities and delays. She graduated May 12 and began work May 14. She says she's a proud alum and believes she got the job because of the experience and education UNT provided.
