Glenda Martin-Shirley, Denton, is associate professor of art at Collin County Community College and adjunct instructor at Richland College in Dallas. In March 2005, she was a guest speaker at a conference held at UNT titled "Women Crossing Cultural Boundaries Through Health, Spirituality and the Arts." She is founder and director of Balance Arts Initiative, an artists collective based in North Texas. She juried an art exhibition, "The Wild Side," in March 2006.

Lee Palmer, Colleyville, has been appointed to lead Hitachi Consulting's aerospace and defense practice. He has more than 15 years of experience in business strategy and information technology consulting.

Judy Dereta, Springtown, was named Teacher of the Year at Springtown High School for the 2006 school year. She is the mother of Shane Foster and Meghan Dereta.

Erika Privratsky Milligan, Castle Rock, Colo., and her husband, John, recently welcomed their first child, a daughter named Finley Blaine Milligan.

French Taylor (M.S.), Dallas, has been elected to the KPMG LLP firm's partnership. He joined KPMG in 2002, providing tax services to consumer, information, communication and entertainment clients in the Southwest. He serves on UNT's Accounting Advisory Board and was an adjunct accounting professor from 1996 to 2000.

Antonio Cuellar, San Antonio, works in information technology for the International Bank of Commerce. He has become a commercial pilot and is working toward becoming a corporate pilot. His wife, Beth Hartshorn Cuellar, who attended UNT from 1988 to 1990, is a special education teacher for North East ISD in San Antonio. Their daughters are "gearing up to go to college in three or four years."

*Julie Osterheld Harbour, Helena, Mont., is the director of advanced advertising for Bresnan Communications, a broadband communications provider in the western United States. She was formerly director of product marketing for Adelphia Media Services. *Mike Harbour ('96) is a freelance writer specializing in transportation subjects. He was formerly the assistant editor for Craftrends, a retail trade publication.

Whitney B. Blanton, Carrollton, competed in the 2006 World Series of Poker $10,000 buy-in main event. He finished 157th out of 8,773 players, placing in the top 2 percent and winning $47,006.

Doug Gray (M.F.A.), Florence, S.C., is an associate professor of art at Francis Marion University. He created ceramics titled "Predicated by Loss," displayed last fall as part of FMU's Art Gallery Series.

Jason Litt, Dallas, who attended UNT from 1991 to 1994, has joined the architecture, engineering and design firm RTKL Associates Inc. as an associate in its audiovisual design practice. Previously, he was chief systems engineer for Gemini Sound Inc. in Dallas and a freelance audio engineer for artists such as Fiona Apple, Usher and Anita Baker, as well as for the Lilith Fair tour.

Kyle Morris, Temecula, Calif., was promoted to the rank of major in the U.S. Marine Corps and is deployed to the Middle East.

Daniel Rockers (M.A., '96 Ph.D.), Sacramento, Calif., has started Mental Skills Training, a program of applied psychology for athletes of all abilities. Also, he was appointed director of Compass, a functional restoration center for chronic pain in Sacramento.

Aaron Solganick, Los Angeles, Calif., was hired by an investment banking firm, B. Riley & Co., as a senior vice president. He is responsible for advising technology and media companies on mergers, acquisitions and related corporate finance initiatives.

'96
Katja Lowrance, Dinwiddie, Va., and her husband, Shane, left Austin and relocated to the Richmond, Va., area in 2004. They welcomed their sixth child in November 2005. Lukas joins siblings Jordan, 10, Daniel, 8, Nathan, 6, Shelby, 4, and Katrina, 2. Katja is a stay-at-home mom and Shane is a senior maintenance technician in the semiconductor industry.

Jesse Salinas Jr., Mesquite, "former lifelong resident of Bruce Hall" who attended UNT from 1989 to 1996, is now working for CC Carpet in Mesquite.

'97
Terry Antoine (Ed.D.), Decatur, was appointed principal of Fort Worth's Summit Academy, a ninth- to 12th-grade campus of the Honors Academy System, in August. Previously, he was principal of Eagle Academy of Waco and career and technology director for Eagle Academies of Texas.

Ramon Vasquez (M.M.), Auburn, Ala., is professor of trumpet at Auburn University and director of the Auburn University Jazz Ensemble. He finished his doctoral degree at the University of Minnesota in 2005 and was also a presenter at the 2005 International Trumpet Guild Convention in Bangkok, Thailand. He was on the faculty at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 1998 to 2003.

Michelle Lynn Teddlie (M.S.), Hurst, was married to Kristofer Dukes Simon in February at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in downtown Fort Worth. Michelle is the daughter of former UNT professor, Jessie Teddlie (’69, ’77 M.Ed., ’82 Ph.D.), and M. Leon Teddlie (’62, ’63 M.Ed.). Rebecca Ruhland Jackson (’02 M.S.) was the matron of honor. Michelle is employed by Tarrant County Public Health and is a certified health education specialist. She was recently president of the Tarrant County Diabetes Collaboration and the Texas Society for Public Health Education. Kris is employed by DaimlerChrysler Financial and holds a Texas State D License as a soccer coach. The couple honeymooned in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Margo Rowder Gremmler, Chicago, Ill., is included in Marquis' Who's Who of American Women 2007. Her biography includes details of her career in advertising, as well as her achievements in short film and martial arts.

*Gary Payne, Denton, photographer for the Denton Record-Chronicle, was named Texas' Star Photojournalist of the Year in 2006 as part of the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Headliners Excellence in Journalism Awards. He first earned the top photojournalist designation for his newspaper class (2A) and then was selected from the winners in each newspaper category. His winning entry was for overall portfolio. He is married to *Julie Elliott Payne ('97).
