William Henry Ogden Jr. (’49 M.A.), Wichita Falls :: He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the American Theater Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Four Bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After his tour of duty, he graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1947 and North Texas in 1949. He taught several subjects, including chemistry, biology and physical science, in the Commerce, Paris and Wichita Falls ISDs. His favorite hobbies were farming and cattle ranching. He enjoyed talking about the trips he took with his mother by train when he was a little boy. His mother loved telling stories of taking him to the store and having to buy him a jelly roll to keep him in line.
