Timothy Lee King (’82, ’92 Ph.D.), Martinsburg, W.V. :: He was an expert in the field of conservation genetics and genomics and his research contributed to the identification of unique species and conservation strategies of endangered species. He was a conservation biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in Palacios and a research fish biologist for the Department of the Interior in Kearneysville. He also led the development of the genetics program at the U.S. Geological Survey. He was appointed as the North American expert on the Atlantic salmon and was recognized with the U.S. Geological Survey Superior Service Award in 2002 for his efforts to develop strategies to recover this species.
