Royce Culler Womble (’52, ’66), Mansfield :: He attended North Texas as a football player and was inducted into the UNT Athletic Hall of Fame. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and assisted in World War II recovery efforts at the Dallas Naval Air Station. After leaving the military, he played for the Baltimore Colts and the Los Angeles Chargers. He formed a small business with two others and eventually bought Arlington Sporting Goods, which he ran for 40 years before moving to a farm in Nocona for his retirement. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
