Robert Thomas ‘Tommy’ Thorson Jr., Charlotte, N.C. He entered North Texas as a jazz guitar major and played in the Five O’Clock Band. Due to tendonitis, he changed majors and graduated with a degree in business. In Houston, he often played in local professional bands. His career included underwriting for Liberty Mutual Insurance and a number of entrepreneurial ventures.
