Pat Porter Ely (’53), Marble Falls :: She earned her degree in music and taught in public schools in Dallas, Austin, Anahuac and El Campo, where she and her husband, Thomas Walter Ely III (’55), owned and operated Ely Furniture Center. She also was a church pianist and over the years had many piano and voice students. At North Texas, she was named Who’s Who in vocal music and was a member of the A Cappella Choir and other music groups. Survivors include her daughter, the Rev. Ellen Ely (’85).
