Lt. Col. Gus Myers

Picture of Gus MyersLt. Col. Gus Myers, 83, who served as the director of risk management services until his retirement in 2005, died Jan. 25 in Denton. He served in the U.S. Navy, graduated with his bachelor’s degree in physics from Eastern Illinois University and then served in the Vietnam War as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. In 1966, Gus attended the University of Arizona for his master’s in nuclear engineering and then taught at the U.S. Air Force Academy. After retiring from the Air Force in 1982, he came to UNT in the 1980s.
