Leslie Stanley-Stevens (’94 Ph.D.), Stephenville :: She was a professor of sociology at Tarleton State University, where she was awarded a Texas A&M University System Regents Professorship in 2015. She had taught at Tarleton since 1995 and wrote the book What They Didn’t Know When They Were Expecting: And How They Became Better Parents (2012) and other scholarly articles in more than two dozen publications. She received the 2012 A&M System Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2005 Tarleton Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award. She was known as an inspiring teacher who was an accomplished researcher and internationally recognized scholar.
