John Pollard Sr.

John Marvin Pollard, Sr. (’49, M.M. ’51, Ed.D. ‘77), Denton :: He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a professional choir director and singer for more than 60 years. He worked in the Rio Grande Valley; University of Wisconsin, Parkside; Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington, where he was chairman of the humanities department; Houston; and Mt. Enterprise. In Denton, he performed with the Denton Bach Society and Sterling House. He was an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association and served as Secretary of Texas Choral Directors Association. He also was a long-time member of the Rotary Club, and he was president and “Rotarian of the Year” for the Henderson Chapter.
