Horace Andrew DeFord Sr. (’51, ’51 M.S.), Dallas :: He played football in college and went on to earn his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He served his residency in psychiatry at Parkland Memorial Hospital and worked at the Veterans Medical Center for more than 50 years. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and in the U.S. Air Force, where he received an Air Force Commendation Medal.
