Born in:
Harrisburg, Penn., but my family moved to McKinney when I was 6, so I’m pretty much Texan.
Most memorable UNT game:
The 2004 home game versus the University of Idaho. That night, Jamario Thomas (’08) set the single-game rushing record, offensively everyone played lights out and we clinched our fourth consecutive Sun Belt title and fourth New Orleans Bowl bid.
Enjoyed most at UNT:
The relationships I made. I met some great people. And I really enjoyed my teammates and the coaching staff I played under. The fans were great, and it was a good time in North Texas football.
Idea behind The Athlete Watch:
When I was in high school, my family was under the impression that if you have the game stats, if you have the film and you score the touchdowns, you’re going to get scholarships. Well, that’s just not how it works. You have to be pro-active and market yourself.
Most surprising thing about pro football:
The business side. At the end of the day, in some form or shape, it all comes back to money.
What a bobsled run is like:
It’s like a controlled car crash. You're getting thrown around the sled as well as getting buried into it in high-pressure turns, pulling up to 4 to 5 G’s. Personally, I get motion sickness, so I have to ride with my eyes closed so I don’t throw up.
Most challenging part of bobsledding:
Learning how to finance the sport. Olympic sports are self funding, so as an Olympic hopeful I have to generate sponsorships through corporate or private donations. I also have started a business to help offset bobsledding costs.
Biggest goal as part of Team USA Bobsled:
I want to make a run at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and the ultimate goal is to walk away with a gold medal.
