Bob Dorough

Bob Dorough (’49), Mount Bethel, Pa. :: He was the man behind such educational and entertaining songs as “Three is a Magic Number” and “Conjunction Junction” for the animated children’s show Schoolhouse Rock, serving as its music director from 1973 to 1985. He also was a jazz composer and collaborated with big names in the field, including Miles Davis. Bob’s love for jazz began when he served in the military, playing and arranging music for the Special Services Army Band unit during World War II. He also composed music for the North Texas lab bands as a student.
