William Jensen Reynolds

William Jensen Reynolds (’46 M.M.), Nashville, Tenn. :: He was a composer of Christian music, including “Share His Love,” and his songs were in the 1956, 1975, 1999 and 2008 editions of the Southern Baptist Hymnal. He published his last book, Songs of Glory: Stories of 300 Great Hymns and Gospel Songs, at age 88. In the 1950s, he moved his family to Nashville to complete a doctorate and lead the music department at the Baptist Sunday School Board, now LifeWay Christian Resources. He worked with other composers to expand the children’s music catalog. In the late 1980s, he moved to Fort Worth, where he taught at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a school founded in part by his grandfather. He was featured in the 2006 PBS documentary Awake My Soul, which focused on Sacred Harp singing.
