Rula Quawas (’95 Ph.D.) :: She was a champion of women’s advancement in her native Jordan and formerly served as dean of faculty languages at the University of Jordan. She focused her academic career and free time on promoting women’s rights and exposing the sexual harassment she and her students faced daily. She was a Fulbright scholar and received the Meritorious Honor Award for Leadership and Dedication from Jordan in 2009.
