Homer G. Bankhead (’48), Allen :: He was a lieutenant in the Merchant Marines in World War II and served as a private in the U.S. Army. He earned his business degree at North Texas, and at the age of 72 earned a juris doctor degree from Texas Wesleyan University. He was a professional fundraiser, managing campaigns for the United Way and colleges, hospitals and churches around the country.
