Lila Haney Walker (’65 M.Ed.), Hurst :: She taught in Plano for one year and Hurst-Euless-Bedford for 25 years. In 1986, she was selected Teacher of the Year for Donna Park Elementary School. After her retirement, she traveled extensively with her husband, Gaston Walker (’58 M.Ed., ’73 Ed.D.). Together they visited 49 of the 50 states and all but one of the Canadian provinces. Lila was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bedford for more than 40 years.
