Doyle Odus Winters (’56), Dallas :: He served in the U.S. Navy, spending two years on the destroyer U.S.S. Lloyd Thomas, and when the Korean war broke out joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a sergeant stationed in London. In 1954, he met Betty Ann Howard while they were both students at North Texas and they eloped in 1955. After he graduated with a degree in finance, he spent the next 25 years in the banking business. He also owned many small businesses and was an accomplished golfer. At North Texas, he was president of Sigma Nu fraternity.
