Steve Rudkin, Spicewood. He retired as a lieutenant from the Pedernales Fire Department after 27 years of volunteer service in August 2021. He led the team that made the department's first save and received a commendation when the team rescued a woman trapped in a house fire in 2000. He has been in the IT and software business since 1987 and has worked for IBM Security for 24 years. He currently serves as its customer advocacy and quality manager. He first attended UNT in the 1980s and met his wife Sharon (’87) here. They have two children, Savannah and Nicholas, and one grandchild.
