Sidra Lawrence, Austin :: was awarded one of seven 2010 Woodrow Wilson Women’s Studies Dissertation Fellowships. The program supports the final year of dissertation writing for doctoral candidates in the humanities and social sciences doing interdisciplinary and original work on issues of women and gender. Sidra is a doctoral student in ethnomusicology at the University of Texas living in Ghana and conducting field research for her dissertation, De-Sexing the Body: the Gendering of Dagara Performance Space.
