Graduation Year:

Priscilla Staley, Allen, celebrated her 20th anniversary with Dallas College and in a new position as director of multicultural marketing. She works with the diversity, equity and inclusion office and marketing department to make sure inclusiveness is featured in all of their efforts. She also is a proud mother, Dallas Cowboys fan, avid traveler, theater fan and three-time firewalker in the Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within conventions. “I have so many good memories from my time at UNT,” she says. “One was being in a public relations class with Meta Carstarphen. She was a great mentor during my college years and early in my career. I spent many late nights working on newspaper and PR projects in her class. The Student Union was where I met so many new friends as a newbie first-gen student. I also have memories in the computer lab/library. My study group and I fixed so many worldwide problems! :) But in all, graduation day will forever be my greatest memory. What I had to overcome to get to that day serves as a reminder that if you stay focused and really want that degree, you will stay on course. It took me a few years longer than my peers as I paid my own way through college and worked full-time. But when graduation day came, there were a lot of tears of emotion to make that happen. I’ll share that lesson with my daughter as she gets close to her college years. I will be forever grateful for the education that I received at UNT as it shaped who and where I am today. Go Eagles!”
