Phillip M. Simpson (’66 M.A.), Lawton, Okla. :: retired after 34 years as a political science professor at Cameron University in Lawton, where he was twice chosen professor of the year. At North Texas, with Fred Gantt as his major professor, he wrote his thesis on Harry S Truman’s labor policy and was awarded a National Science Foundation fellowship, which he used to complete his master’s degree. He finished his doctorate in political science at the University of Arizona in 1971, with a specialty in American government and politics. He was awarded his Phi Beta Kappa key while there.
