Maury Forman, Seattle, is the 2021 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Economic Development from the International Economic Development Council. For over 30 years, he worked at the Washington State Department of Commerce until his retirement in 2016. He started several initiatives, including the Startup Washington 365 Program, which assists small businesses at the state and local levels. Over the course of his career, he has written 21 books, made generous contributions to local nonprofit organizations and has been recognized multiple times for his work in economic development.
