Mary Milam (’71 M.S.), Fort Worth :: has been awarded the Gold-Headed Cane Award by the Tarrant County Medical Society for her “pursuit of the highest standards of scientific excellence and integrity.” Milam became a first-generation college graduate when she earned a degree in pre-medicine from North Texas. She completed medical school at UT Southwestern and fulfilled her residency at the University of Alabama Hospital and Clinics. She has practiced hematology/oncology in Fort Worth for 39 years. She enjoys gardening, spending time with her family and caring for her cat and three dogs.
