Helen Lucas Reed, Grapevine :: was honored as Woman of the Year at the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce awards dinner at the Gaylord Texan. Since retiring from Mobil Oil Corp. in 1994 as a tax accountant, she has spent many hours volunteering. She has served as a member of the board and president of the Grapevine Historical Society, as a docent at the Grapevine Historical Museum and the 1869 Nash Farm House, and as a tour guide on historic Main Street. She also has donated many hours to the Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, co-chairing Senior Fest, working on the Holiday Charity Ball and the Great Taste of Grapevine, and distributing backpacks and school supplies. She has volunteered for many shifts at the town’s festivals as a Beer Babe, with funds going to the Women’s Division for its projects. At North Texas, she was a member of Delta Gamma.
