Edmond Chan, Philadelphia, Pa. :: a baroque violinist, was accepted to the American Bach Soloists Summer Academy, an audition-only program for advanced conservatory-level students and young professionals. He also performed at the International Fasch Festival in Zerbst, Germany, with Tempesta di Mare, the Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra; with Opera Lafayette in Washington, D.C., and Lincoln Center; with The Washington Bach Consort in D.C.; and with The Handel Choir of Baltimore. He performed a Vivaldi violin concerto at the St. Cecilia Music Festival in Austin. His UNT degree is in biochemistry, but he says he was able to continue his musical studies and play in the many ensembles UNT made available. “I have created an amazing life for myself as a freelance musician,” he says.
