Photo of Dustin GerstenfieldDustin Gerstenfield, Nashua, New Hampshire, ran the 126th Boston Marathon April 18, 2022, raising nearly $5,000 for MassBay Community College’s Student Hunger Assistance Fund, which raises awareness for food insecurity initiatives. He is a MassBay IT business analyst who has worked at the college since 2017, and earned his certificates in information technology and cybersecurity at MassBay. He took up running as a stress-reliever and ran his first marathon in Portland, Maine, last year. “I have watched the Boston Marathon on television, but I have never experienced it in person, and I have never been on the course except when I travel to and from work at MassBay,” Gerstenfield says. “Growing up in Texas, I didn’t know about Patriots’ Day, but I was so proud to represent MassBay at the marathon while raising money for a great cause. I was excited for race day and to experience all the feelings that come with running Boston.”
