Michael Hays, Houston, a civil attorney and partner of Hays, McConn, Rice & Pickering PC, was named the 2005 South Texas College of Law Distinguished Alumnus and was the featured speaker at the alumni association’s annual meeting in October. He was elected to the college’s board of directors in April.

Aaron Bonds , Corpus Christi, is the site coordinator for the Project Real-Time after-school program at Agua Dulce High School. He has served in education for more than 20 years and says he enjoys motivating students “to be the best that they can be in life.”

Vernon Dale King, Baytown, instructs art at Crosby Middle School in Crosby and is an adjunct professor of art at Cy-Fair College Fairbanks Center in Houston. He has been selected for inclusion in the 60th Diamond Edition of Who’s Who in America (2006) and will also be included in Who’s Who in American Education.

George Foulsham, Oxnard, Calif., a former deputy news editor of the Dallas Morning News, has been named managing editor of the News-Press in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Bob Lamb, Keaau, Hawaii, says he retired in Hawaii but needed more money to live, so he is now a personal tour guide and has a vacation rental. He has been a professional photographer for many years and gives personal photo tours of the Big Island of Hawaii.

Henry O. Adkins (M.P.A.), Plano, left Dallas’ Department of Health and Human Services to serve as visiting scholar at Mountain View College in Dallas for three years. He is now an adjunct professor of government at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster. He is also an inspirational speaker and author of the motivational book Common Sense: Your Way To Success. Two of his three children have graduated from college and one from law school. His youngest is a junior at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.

Cindy Richardson Hurt, Dallas, became associate professor of art at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus in 2004. Her daughter, Sarah (’04), works as a program director for aquatics and child care program development at a Dallas YMCA, and her son, Clayton (’05), is working on his M.F.A. in sculpture at Texas Christian University.

Lee Pulliam, Anchorage, Alaska, is the development director at Volunteers of America Alaska. The organization serves the needs of children and seniors throughout the state. Also, Lee performs regularly as a jazz saxophonist in Anchorage, directs the choir at New Grace Christian Church and teaches private woodwind lessons.

Danny Boyce (’83 M.S.), Lancaster, has retired from the Dallas Fire Department after 31 years. He served as city manager in Royse City and as grant administrator for several municipalities. He also taught ESL classes in the Dallas ISD.

Darrell Brogdon, Lawrence, Kan., writes and produces “Right Between the Ears,” a sketch comedy show that won gold medals for best comedy show and best writing at the 2005 New York Festivals. The show airs every weekend on SIRIUS Satellite Radio and on the Kansas Public Radio network.

Richard Bowman (’82 M.B.A.), San Ramon, Calif., was promoted to senior vice president of KANA Software Worldwide Customer Care this year.

John F. ‘Jeff’ Tanner (’85 M.B.A.), Waco, a professor of marketing at Baylor University, has been appointed associate dean for research and faculty development at Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business.
