Grady Asher , Irving, received his M.S. in social work in December 2004 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He works as an aftercare services manager with the Transition Resource Action Center program at Central Dallas Ministries.

Lance Cleveland and Carla Briley Cleveland (’00), Fort Worth, are the proud parents of Sammie Elle Cleveland, born in July. She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 18 inches long. Lance says they couldn’t wait to take her to her first UNT football game in her new UNT football onesie.

Machell Denson, Arlington, has been elected to serve as a board member for CampFire USA Lone Star Council in Dallas. She was also initiated as a member of the national service sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She will serve with its Denton County alumnae chapter.

James Popejoy (D.M.A.), Grand Forks, N.D., was selected as the 2005 Distinguished Alumnus for the Central Missouri State University Department of Music. He is an associate professor of music and director of bands and graduate studies in music at the University of North Dakota.

John Woolley and Mona Wiginton Woolley (’00), Fort Worth, welcomed a son, Carson Malone Woolley, in July. John owns Woolley’s Frozen Custard in Fort Worth and Mona teaches eighth-grade English for the Keller ISD.

Richard Guinn (M.S.), Pearland, accepted a position in September as technical services librarian at the library of the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston.

Robyn Coyle, Huntington Beach, Calif., graduated from Whittier Law School in May and was a fellow in the Center for Children’s Rights. She passed the California bar exam in July.

Nicolle Bowling Gershon, Carrollton, earned top honors for outstanding sales achievement in the third and fourth quarters of 2004 and was named one of three “Top Annual Performers” for 2004 in the centralized account sales department of American Airlines. She received a promotion this year to the interactive marketing team. She and Rick Gershon (’04) were married in May 2004.

Arnie Gonzalez, Reston, Va., works in Homeland Security, where he develops response training courses to educate all FEMA personnel to respond to disasters.

Mariah Phipps-Armitage, McKinney, is an emergency management/Metropolitan Medical Response System planner for the city of Arlington. She and her husband, Lawrence, welcomed their first child, Ethan Armitage, in April 2004. The family relocated from Washington, D.C., last year.

*Yolanda Williams, Dallas, is the CEO of Williams Paralegal and Advertising in downtown Dallas. She was the runner-up for the District 5 place on the Dallas City Council and continues to serve the community by working with young adults and the elderly.
