Dianna Booher, Colleyville, chief executive officer and president of Booher Consultants Inc., has released two new web-based written communication programs. "Effective Writing" and "Good Grief, Good Grammar" teach business writers to improve their productivity through written communication.

Larry Carson, Palmer, is serving as the superintendent of schools for the Palmer ISD.

Jim Schranz, Dallas, has been appointed to the position of vice president of human resources and treasurer of Austin Industries. He has been with the company for more than 30 years and served as treasurer for the past 10 years. In his new role, he will head up a corporate human resources area in addition to serving as treasurer.

* Paul Chandler, Denton, former senior vice president of lending for TexasBank in the Denton market, has been promoted to banking center president for Denton. He has been in the banking industry for more than 27 years, starting in the business while he was attending North Texas.

Richard Faulk, Houston, is an environmental trial and appellate lawyer and a senior partner in Gardere, Wynne, Sewell LLP. He leads the firm's environmental practice group in the Houston, Dallas and Austin offices. In 2004 he and his wife, Candace, permanently endowed annual composition scholarships for the UNT College of Music. While at North Texas, Richard was a student of Merrill Ellis, William Latham and Martin Mailman, and he still composes for his church and family.

Eduardo Aguilar (M.F.A.), Fort Worth, associate professor of art at Tarrant County College-Northwest Campus, was one of 15 recipients of the 2004 Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award. He is serving as president of the Texas Association of Schools of Art for 2004-06 and was on faculty development leave from TCC for the 2004-05 academic year.

Marian Jacobs ('82 M.Ed.), Dallas, has been an orchestra teacher for more than 20 years at schools in Dallas, Mesquite and Plano. Currently, she teaches orchestra in the Plano ISD at Wilson Middle School, where she was honored with the school's Teacher of the Year Award. She is married to Stuart Jacobs ('75), and their oldest child, Ariel, is a senior at UNT majoring in photography.
