Amy Stine-Conine, Denton, was named Teacher of the Year for Denton ISD’s Strickland Middle School for the 2004-05 school year.
Stan Weeber (Ph.D.), Lake Charles, La., is an associate professor of sociology and criminal justice at McNeese State University in Lake Charles. His sixth book is due out next year.

Jocelyn Janota, Austin, received the 2006 Award of Excellence for “Best Feature Story” from the National Council of Rural Electric Communicators. She was formerly the director of communications and public relations for United Electric Cooperative Services in Cleburne. In May she moved to Austin and began a new job as the assignments editor in the communications division of the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Ed Powell (D.M.A.), Puyallup, Wash., was appointed director of bands and assistant professor of music at Pacific Lutheran University.
Amber Gattis Teamann, Garland, completed her master’s degree in education with a specialization in curriculum and technology. She teaches and lives in Garland with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Taylor.
Mark Thinnes, Portland, Ore., moved to Florida for a job in surveying after graduation and went through two hurricanes. He then moved to Portland to take a job with David Evan and Associates as an instrument tech. He recently bought a house with his fiancé and was looking forward to a great Northwest summer.
’03 Devon Wootten, Farmers Branch, received a Fulbright scholarship to study Scandinavian languages and literature in Denmark. While there he will translate Danish poetry into English.
’05 Kerry Kirpach, Frisco, was hired by F&S Partners Inc., a Dallas-based architecture, interior design and planning firm, to work in the interior design department. |
