Betty Armstrong Hood, Amarillo, was honored by the Music Teachers National Association as an MTNA Foundation Fellow at its Austin conference in March. She is a nationally certified teacher of music and a 50-year member of the MTNA. She was named Amarillo Music Teachers Association Teacher of the Year in 1983 and 2002-03.

Joe David Ruffin (’54 M.Ed.), Hewitt, has served as a Presbyterian pastor for 50 years after graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1956. In his retirement he serves a church in Robinson and resides with his wife in Hewitt.
