David Scarborough
(M.B.A., '95 Ph.D.), West Linn, Ore., is chief scientist for Unicru Inc., which has been recognized for implementing the first commercial application of artificial intelligence technology for employee selection. The company's patent applications were written by Scarborough and are based on his UNT management dissertation.

Susan Thorpe ('89 M.P.A.), Rowlett, is now the city manager for Rowlett. She has worked in Bedford, Midland, Lubbock, Odessa and Tracy, Calif.

Lora-Marie Bernard
, Texas City, senior reporter at the Texas City Sun, received first place in investigative reporting from the Associated Press Managing Editors Association for a series of news articles that exposed high benzene emissions at two Texas City plants. Bernard also received first place in specialty reporting and second place in business reporting. At North Texas, she was a Talon and president of Sigma Delta Chi, the journalism society.

Paul Dishman
(M.B.A., '92 Ph.D.), Provo, Utah, has been elected president of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals. He is an associate professor at Brigham Young University.

Tammy and Steve Kidwell ('90), Highland Village, announce the birth of their son, Caelix, on Oct. 28, 2001.

Bryan Andress
, San Antonio, is an Association for the Study of Internal Fixation consultant for Synthes Spine and works with neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons in San Antonio to promote the company's spinal implants. He is married and has two children — Matthew, 7, and Abigail, 4.

Tait Cruse
, Richardson, financial planner with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, received recognition for being a Top 20 producer in the United States.

Ernest Kramer (Ph.D.), Maryville, Mo., has been promoted to full professor at Northwest Missouri State University.

Pamela S. Wallace, Norman, Okla., heads the exhibit department at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. The museum, a research branch of the University of Oklahoma, has 50,000 square feet of exhibition space, and more than 350,000 people visit each year.
