Karen Womack Shawn
, Saginaw, is a teacher at Boswell High School. She was awarded the Gabrielle and Joseph Crighton Scholarship at TWU, where she is pursuing her master of education degree in education administration and principal certification.

Isaiah Ugboro (M.B.A., '84 Ph.D.), Greensboro, N.C., has been promoted to professor in the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University.

Klaus Driessen
(M.Ed.), has retired as superintendent of the Lake Worth School District and the Education Service Center, Region XI, after 28 years of service in education.

Celia Muñoz
, Arlington, was one of the artists featured in an exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art this summer. The Bridge, part of an exchange between sister cities Arlington and Bad Königshofen, Germany, included works by Arlington and Bavarian artists.

Randall Crabtree, Dallas, is vice president of public relations and marketing communication at UniFocus in Carrollton.

Elaine Pettit (M.S., ' 95 Ph.D.), Garland, engineering fellow at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems in Garland, was awarded the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation from the director of central intelligence in 2003. She serves as chief engineer on several Raytheon projects and has testified before Congress on matters of national defense. She continues to serve UNT as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Linda A. Monaco
(Ph.D.), Oak Point, retired as superintendent of the Little Elm school district in June. She worked in the district for 10 years and served as superintendent for two years. She plans to continue to work after retirement as an adjunct instructor at UNT and TWU.

Angela Ward, Longview, is married to former UNT student Bob Ward, who wrote a section for the book King Football: The Greatest Games in Texas High School Football History. Her son, Timothy, 12, was honored as a Duke Talent Identification Program statewide scholar during a recognition ceremony at UNT this summer.

'86
Barbara Green, Lewiston, N.Y., was promoted to associate athletic director at Niagara University, where she has worked for 14 years. She played on the women's volleyball team at North Texas and says she still bleeds green.

Rene Stelzer ('88 M.Ed.), Denton, married George Travis Rousseau of Dallas. She is employed as an information designer in the technology department of Southwest Airlines.

Sherre Neilon Sweet, Dallas, earned her juris doctor degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in December 2002. She passed the bar in February and is now licensed to practice law in Texas.

Kyle Leath, Dallas, has been named head basketball coach at Cedar Valley College. He is the former manager of team affairs for the Dallas Mavericks.

Patricia Racette, Santa Fe, N.M., appeared in the Santa Fe Opera's production of Kátya Kabanová this summer, singing the title role.

'89
Barry 'Navajo' Blackmon, Claremore, Okla., has been named chief technology officer for S4F Inc., a company that provides Internet filtering services. He and his wife, Gretchen, have a daughter, Athena, 1.

Monica Holmes ('92 M.B.A., '95 Ph.D.), Mount Pleasant, Mich., has been promoted to professor of business information systems at Central Michigan University.

Letha Pilgrim, McKinney, married Frank D. Castro on June 21. She is a former employee of Northwest ISD and taught middle school band.
