Robert
B. Morgan ('65
M.M.), Houston, received an Alumni Achievement Award from the University
of Illinois, the highest honor bestowed on a graduate, at its May
commencement ceremony. Morgan was director of jazz studies at Houston's
High School for the Performing and Visual Arts for 23 years and
is himself a musician and composer.

Barbara
Ware,
Dallas, has been named executive director for career and technology
education in the Dallas ISD. She was formerly instructional specialist
for family and consumer sciences. She is currently serving on the
Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation board of directors.

Jeffrey
Bracken ('75
M.S.), Dallas, of Bracken and Associates has been appointed by
the National Institute of Standards and Technology
to the 2003 board of examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award. He is responsible for reviewing applications for
the award, which is the highest national recognition for performance
excellence that a U.S. organization can receive.
Barbara
DeMougeot Fidler,
Euless, has been hired as the assistant principal of Central
Junior High School n the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. She has also
been employed in the district as a speech teacher and coordinator
of summer school. She is the daughter of former UNT debate coach
William DeMougeot.
