Ross T. Collins (’48, ’51 M.S.), Kerrville :: He helped lead the golf team to Lone Star Conference championships in 1946 and 1947 and also earned letters in tennis and basketball. He was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983. A former head golf pro, he was named PGA Golf Professional of the Year in 1971 and was inducted into the Texas and Arkansas golf halls of fame and the PGA of America Hall of Fame. His work as a U.S. Navy pilot during World War II earned him the Navy Cross, three air medals and induction into two military halls of fame.
