Leila Jaynes Meacham (’63), San Antonio. She was the author of several New York Times bestselling books, including Roses, Tumbleweeds, Somerset and Dragonfly. Meacham earned her degree in education and worked as a high school English teacher, where she first dabbled in writing romance books. After she retired, she took up writing “when I ran out of all the things I waited to do until retirement.”
