James Terry Strange (’66, ’68 M.B.A.), 81, of Houston, a member of the Kendall Society, died Jan. 14, 2026. After earning a track scholarship and completing degrees in accounting at North Texas, the former Air Force ROTC member served with the U.S. National Guard. He later built a career climbing the ranks with KPMG, eventually reaching the positions of vice chairman and managing partner of its U.S. Audit Practice and global managing partner of KPMG International’s Audit Practice. He also was a member of its executive committee. In addition to serving on public company boards, he was on the boards of the Greater Houston Partnership, United Way and the YMCA in Houston. He spent years competing in the National Cutting Horse Association and made his way to the Hall of Fame in 2012.
