According to the Pew Research Center, Hispanics account for more than half of the population growth in the U.S. in the past decade, with an increase of 50 million Hispanics. In response to the changing demographics in the workforce, UNT launched the Latina/o and Mexican-American Studies program for undergraduate students.
The program reinforces UNT's commitment to educating students about the complexity, history, politics, sociology and culture of Hispanic communities. Students who enroll in the program will learn about Hispanics who come from 22 different countries and collectively make up the Hispanic population in the U.S.
