Vishnu Dantu, second-year Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science student, was one of 10 students from Texas to receive a prestigious 2015 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for innovative research.
Dantu created an application for people with diabetes in which a smartphone camera analyzes light wavelengths transmitted through a person's fingertip to measure glucose levels. TAMS students Anushree Agrawal, Michael Hashe and Tiffany Jiang earned Goldwater Honorable Mentions. In all, UNT has had 55 Goldwater scholars.
