Two UNT photography students studied with award-winning photographer Mary Ellen Mark during a 10-day workshop for 12 photographers this summer in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Liss LaFleur, who incorporates sound and still-life animation into her photography, layered a series of sequence shots with natural sound and voices of people in Oaxaca. Cara Michelle Smith focused on black-and-white street photography and portraiture. Mark's work has appeared in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Life and Vanity Fair.
