When the Black Label Movement dance company visited UNT for a residency in 2014, dance major Danielle Zuniga ('15) was overwhelmed with emotion.

"I was moving in the classes with even more inspiration and rigor than I had in a while," she says. "I fell in love with their movers' movement and ideas that day. I remember joking that I was going to move to Minnesota."
Zuniga did move to the Twin Cities and has performed in several of BLM's productions. She's also gaining insight into how to run a dance company as the company's administrative assistant. Zuniga also produced the self-portrait show Altered Odyssey with Reyna Mondragon ('15) this May at The Phoenix Theater and Arts Nest in Minneapolis.
"BLM's style is maximum athleticism and strength while making a statement," Zuniga says.
