Dale Peters ("Friends We'll Miss," fall 2011) was my organ and harpsichord teacher in the early '70s. In addition to being a wonderful and patient instructor, he also was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever known.
He was quite open-minded about music. When I came back to North Texas in 2009 to do a lecture and a performance of the music of Frank Zappa, he came to both events and seemed to enjoy himself.
After the performance, he said, "I could listen to that kind of music all day!" Recently, I came across this photo of Dale and me, taken right after the performance.
We will miss you, Mr. Peters — and thank you.
