A new Travel-Learn Program from UNT’s Center for Achievement and Lifelong Learning will offer trips highlighting the university’s programs and the expertise of its faculty. The first few trips have been organized, with plans to offer six to eight per year.
Participants can travel to Ireland Oct. 18-26 to learn about literature from David Holdeman, chair of the Department of English, and attend One O’Clock Lab Band performances at the Guinness Jazz Festival in Cork.
Travelers will journey to Chile Jan. 6-15 with Warren Burggren, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. While there, they will learn how UNT scientists and students and their University of Magallanes partners link biological and cultural conservation with social well-being through the sub-Antarctic biocultural conservation program.
A trip to Israel is scheduled March 31-April 10 with Richard Golden, director of the Jewish studies program, and a theatre trip to New York and day trips to Dallas art museums are in the planning stages.
