The Emerald Ball Goes Green supports UNT's standout Emerald Eagle Scholars program and provides an intimate look at UNT's Apogee Stadium, the nation's first newly constructed LEED Platinum-certified college football stadium. The annual event helps to raise money for the program, which helps high-achieving but financially challenged students realize their college dreams. The program gives students financial and academic support and campus connections to help them succeed in college and earn their degrees. Since its inception in 2007, the award-winning program has helped more than 2,400 students — most of whom are first-generation college students — attend UNT. Already, nearly 170 Emerald Eagle Scholars have graduated early or on time.
The sixth annual Emerald Ball will be held in the Club Level of UNT's Apogee Stadium starting at 6 p.m. and includes cocktails, dinner and dancing. Tickets are $200 each, with proceeds supporting the Emerald Eagle Scholars program. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
There will be complimentary valet parking. In keeping with the sustainability theme, the "Green Tie" event will feature recycled and reusable material and local vendors who provide the food and music.
