Rosemary Meza-DesPlas ('88) was excited to see two of her drawings displayed at the women-focused exhibition
"Half the Sky: Intersections in Social Practice Art" in Shenyang, China, this spring. But Meza-DesPlas, who submitted her artwork for
the juried show, also appreciated the opportunity to serve as one of 13 delegates
and project installation director. She also got to network with artists from around
the world and "enhance my learning as an artist and expand my perspective as a human
being."
"As an art historian, I have an appreciation for different cultures, respecting the history and legacy offered by each," says Meza-DesPlas, who teaches at El Centro College in Dallas. "This will augment my classroom instruction and benefit my students."
